라이카 M11-R 루머

Leica is rumored to announce a new M11-R camera later this year or in early 2027. I was told that the M11-R will have a new sensor but still at 60MP (the last M10-R had a higher-resolution sensor than the M10 version – the general perception was that R stood for “resolution”). Some of the other changes we may see in the M11-R include a larger LCD screen, which could lead to a different button/comntrols placement or even their complete elimination (all touchscreen-based). I am sure most of you remember those leaked prototypes:

My understanding is that the Leica M11-R will use a next-gen or similar sensor that we may see in the M12. The M11-R could be a very good financial deal, just as the M10-R (now listed at $6,835.95) was compared to the M11 ($10,400). It seems that the M11-R will be an experiment/test of what the Leica M12 could be:

가장 큰 변화는 후면 LCD 크기 변화 같은데,

개인적으로는 터치보다는 물리버튼을 유지했으면 하는 바람입니다.

일단 뭐 나와봐야알겠죠..ㅎ

올해 말, 내년 초 라고 했으니 내년 초 즈음 나오려나요?

SL3-P 뿐만 아니라 함께 출시되는 50.4 렌즈가 꽤 주목받는 것 같습니다.

파나소닉이나 시그마 택갈이가 아니고 독일 자체 생산이라서 크기도 작아져서 관심을 받는 것 같네요.

100마는 생김새를 보니 파나소닉은 아니고 시그마 105마 택갈이 버전같습니다.

이제 25일에 공식 발표를 보면 될 것 같습니다~~ㅎㅎ

What is “Hammertone”?

Leica Hammertone cameras feature a distinctive textured grey “hammered” or pebbled paint finish that gives them an industrial, tool-like appearance. Leica has a long history of making Hammertone cameras

The Hammertone finish originated in the late 1950s/early 1960s at Ernst Leitz Wetzlar. It was primarily used on scientific and optical instruments (microscopes, slide projectors, enlargers, etc.) because it hid minor surface imperfections on machined parts, was extremely durable, and was more cost-effective than high-gloss finishes. The Hammertone finish has a rugged, almost military/scientific character that develops a unique patina with use (some light brassing can occur on edges).

Leica rarely applied it to actual 35mm cameras. The first (and for decades the only) official photographic camera version appeared in 1964, when Leica produced just 10 Leica MD bodies in grey Hammertone (serial numbers 1102501–1102510). These simplified M-series bodies (no viewfinder) were made for scientific/copying use with the Visoflex reflex housing. Matching hammertone Visoflex housings were also supplied. These 10 cameras are now legendary rarities among collectors.

Most notable Leica Hammertone cameras

1964 Leica MD Grey Hammertone (only 10 made): the original and rarest. Extremely collectible as the direct inspiration for all later Hammertone Leicas.

2003 Leica MP Grey Hammertone “LHSA 1968-2003” (1,400 units): the most famous and iconic “Hammertone” camera. Produced to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA). It is a mechanical MP with the signature grey hammertone finish on the top and bottom plates (contrasting chrome controls and accents). Many were sold as sets that included a chrome Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH lens and sometimes a Leicavit rapid winder, all styled with retro 1950s touches. It remains one of the most desirable and visually striking special editions Leica ever made.

2026 Leica M-A Hammertone “Ginza 20th Anniversary” (100 units) The newest official Hammertone edition (announced April 2026). Based on the fully mechanical, battery-free M-A film camera. It carries the classic grey hammertone finish on the top cover and base plate, plus a special “20 JAHRE” engraving. Made exclusively for the Japanese market to mark 20 years of the Leica Store Ginza (the world’s first directly operated Leica store). A modern, limited tribute to the classic look.

2주내로 라이카 SL3-P 출시 루머 그리고 Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4, and SL 100mm f/2.8 macro 도 출시 가능성?

Here are the upcoming/rumored Leica SL camera and lenses:

Leica SL3-P camera (around €6,000)
Leica Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 lens (around €5,000) – lighter and smaller than the previous version (already listed as discontinued)
Leica SL 100mm f/2.8 macro lens (around €2,500) – probably based on the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN Macro Art or the Panasonic LUMIX S 100mm f/2.8 Macro

I am not sure if both new lenses will be released at the same time as the camera. The official announcement is expected at the end of June (or in the next two weeks).곧 출시될 라이카 SL 카메라와 렌즈가 있습니다:

Samyang/Schneider 의 L mount 줌렌즈가 6월 25일 공개 예정?

Samyang is officially teasing the lens of a new lens that is “Lighter. Faster.Closer”.

Back in March Phototrend had a chat with a Samyang manager where they discussed those possible new lenses:

20-50mm f/2 AF lens: It is reportedly still at an early stage of development, and its launch would not be expected before 2028 or 2029. Due to its wider aperture, this zoom would be larger and heavier than the current 24-60 mm.
28-85mm f/2-2.8 AF lens: It was initially envisioned with a constant f/2 aperture, but Samyang would ultimately opt for a variable aperture in order to reduce its size. Unstabilized and slightly larger than the new 24-60 mm, this zoom could see the light of day by late 2027 or spring 2028 if feedback is positive.
28-135mm f/2.8 AF lens: reportedly already in production for a release planned for late 2026 at the earliest.
300mm f/4 OIS AF lens: The South Korean manufacturer could even consider integrating a built-in 1.4x teleconverter (effectively turning it into a 420 mm f/5.6) to work around licensing restrictions on external teleconverters imposed by major camera manufacturers. Would be Samyang’s first to feature optical image stabilization (OIS).
200mm f/1.8 OIS AF lens: Producing this kind of lens could be costly.

Moreover Samyang displayed a prototype of a new 60-180mm f/2.8 lens at the CP+ show:

I don’t know of the lens coming on June 25 is going to be the 28-135mm f/2.8 FE/L or the 60-180mm f/2.8 FE/L. What do you think?

FE 마운트는 사실 당연하고 추가로 L마운트까지 예상하는군요.

올초에 여러 줌렌즈들의 가능성이 예측됐는데..

중국 HSG는 블랙스톤과 잠재적으로 라이카 지분 인수를 위한 협상 진행 중

Bloomberg reports that HSG (HongShan Capital Group, formerly Sequoia Capital China) has emerged as the leading bidder in advanced discussions to acquire Blackstone’s approximately 45% stake in Leica Camera AG.

According to people familiar with the matter, HSG may also seek to purchase the remaining ~55% held by the Kaufmann family (via ACM Projektentwicklung), potentially gaining full control of the company. The discussions value Leica at around €1 billion.

Blackstone originally acquired its stake in 2011 for roughly €130 million to support Leica’s international growth. If HSG completes a full acquisition, sources indicate the firm could explore a potential public listing (IPO) of Leica.

The talks are ongoing, and there is no guarantee a deal will be reached. No official comments have been made by any of the parties involved.

LLL에서 6월 5일, 75mm f/1.5 Z21 렌즈 공개 예정

As previously reported, Light Lens Lab will continue developing the “Z21” series M-mount lenses with additional focal lengths, retaining the same rendering and characteristics as the current Light Lens Lab 50mm f/1.5 Z21.

On June 5th, 2026, Light Lens Lab will announce a new 75mm f/1.5 Z21 lens for Leica M-mount, further expanding the distinctive “Z21” series (a modern homage to the rare 1950s/60s Angénieux S21) to a 75mm focal length.

The Z21 line uses high-refractive-index, lanthanide-infused glass to recreate vintage character while improving contrast and usability. Expect a 10-blade (or similar) diaphragm for smooth bokeh, aluminum construction for lightweight (~300-350g), a minimum focus distance of ~0.7m, full-frame coverage, vintage-inspired with classic engraved markings, yet usable on modern digital Leica cameras.

이번에 75미리 화각으로 출시하나 보군요.

LLL 에서 최근에 무언가 울궈먹기? 식으로 개발하는 건 아닌가 싶기도 합니다.

하우징은 리지드를 가져다 쓰면서 렌더링은 다른 걸 쓴다던지.. 이번에는 렌더링은 유지하면서 화각만 바꾼다던지..

아주 새롭기 보다는 애매하게 파생상품을 내놓는 기분이 들기도 합니다..ㅎ

제가 LLL 의 고가정책에 반감이 있어서 그런지도 모르겠지만 말이죠..^^;;

There is also some talk about Leica introducing a new SL 100mm APO macro lens.

SL3 에 비해서 영상 기능이 다소 떨어질 순 있지만 그래도 개선된 af 와 800개의 af 포인트를 지원하는군요.

6천만은 좀 부담되고 2천4백만 화소는 아쉬웠던 분들께는 적절한 4천4백만 화소의 포지션입니다.

5~6월 공개를 예상했는데 5월은 다 지났으니 6월중에 곧 공개되겠네요.

모두가 아시다시피 파나소닉 카메라의 택갈이? SL 버전이니 파나소닉의 S1RII 와 동일한 스펙으로 예상됩니다.

그리고 100마 렌즈 루머도 있는데.,, 이것도 결국 파나소닉 100마 택갈이는 아니려나요?
