Xiaomi and Leica recently renewed their partnership under the slogan “A New Era of Strategic Co-Creation Redefining Mobile Photography”:

As I already reported, the global launch of the new Leitzphone will be on February 28 in Barcelona (in the US, Xiaomi phones are sold at Amazon):

The new Leitzphone will be based on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, but it will have a different design as shown in the pictures below (previous coverage of Leitzphone can be found here):

어제 샤오미와 라이카의 더욱 깊어진 협업에 대해서 뉴스를 올렸었는데 하루만에 구체적인 내용이 공개가 되는군요.

샤오미의 새로운 스마트폰 샤오미 17 울트라가 공개되었고, 이를 바탕으로 라이카의 새로운 라이츠 폰이 나올 것 같습니다.

파나소닉의 카메라를 통해서 라이카 SL 을 만들었듯이 샤오미의 스마트폰을 통해서 라이츠 폰을 만들 것 같구요.

중국 제조사들 정말 무섭습니다. 일본의 행사인데 중국 브랜드가 관심을 독차지 하는 느낌이네요.

28미리 팬케익으로 강한 인상을 줬던 Brightin Star 가 점차 외연을 넓혀가는 듯 합니다.

M마운트와 L마운트 렌즈를 각각 하나씩 출시했는데요.

M마운트 렌즈는 35.7 렌즈인데 APO 입니다. 조리개가 살짝 아쉽지만 크기로 극복했고

동시에 APO 화질을 탑재해서.. 꽤 기대가 되는데, 가격이 괜찮으면 구입해보고 싶어지네요.

L마운트 렌즈는 50 F2 트리싸이트라는 이름이네요. 3가지 장면 연출이 가능한가 봅니다.

일반모드, 버블보케모드, 소프트포커스 모드. 재밌게 쓸 수 있는 렌즈같은데

역시나 기능 탑재 때문에 MF 라는 점. 그래도 덕분에 가격은 좋겠지요~^^

Aside from confirming the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series that’s happening on February 28 in Barcelona, Xiaomi shared an update on its partnership with Leica. In the joint letter, Xiaomi said that their partnership with Leica enters a new era, “moving from co-engineering to strategic co-creation.”

This is a big deal, as this means that Xiaomi and Leica will work together to develop devices that focus on imaging. This is more than software; this means that both brands are also working together with hardware as well.

One of the first products to come out of their strategic co-creation partnership is the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica, which has the latter’s iconic red dot branding and a physical control ring in the camera module called the Leica Camera Ring, a dual-tone design, and a knurled middle frame. It also has Leica Essential mode, which simulates the image qualities of the M3 and 9, two of Leica’s most iconic cameras. It’s also one of the few phones to have CAI Photo Authenticity Protection technology, which adds a digital signature to all photos taken with it.

We expect the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica to be made available globally, but it might come in a different name and be called the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi.

2월 26일, 2026 CP+ show에서 시그마는 최소 2개의 렌즈 공개 예정

Sigma is rumored to announce at least two new lenses on February 26th for the 2026 CP+ show in Yokohama, Japan:

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN | Art lens has already been discontinued in Japan, and we may see a new version II. Hopefully, we will also get some updates on the latest Foveon sensor developments. 2026 CP+ 쇼가 얼마 남지 않았네요. 26일에 시그마 CEO 가 아마도 신제품을 발표할 거란 소식입니다.

Since first being introduced in 1966, the name ‘Noctilux’ has represented the pinnacle of optical craftsmanship at Leica. The name is made up of the Latin words ‘noctu’ and ‘lux’, meaning ‘night’ and ‘light’, and refers to the exceptional speed of this lens series. With a maximum aperture of up to f/0.95, Noctilux lenses are considered to be the epitome of optical development, opening up creative possibilities beyond the ordinary. They deliver images with an unrivalled visual aesthetic. With the new Noctilux-M 35 f/1.2 ASPH., Leica Camera AG is presenting the first Noctilux M-Lens in the company’s history to feature a 35 mm focal length.

Like all Noctilux lenses, the latest addition to the family impresses with its exceptional speed and superior imaging performance. The new, compact Noctilux-M 35 f/1.2 ASPH. produces clear, high-contrast images characterised by a distinctive look. M-Cameras with a rangefinder can focus to a distance of 70 cm via the optical viewfinder. In the close-up range of 70–50 cm, focusing is carried out via Live View on the rear LCD panel or the Visoflex 2 clip-on viewfinder. The large focusing angle of the Noctilux-M 35 supports this, thereby enabling precise and sensitive work.

The new Leica Noctilux-M 35 f/1.2 ASPH. has been optimised for M-Cameras with high-resolution image sensors, in addition to having been completely redesigned and handcrafted in Wetzlar. Decades of experience and state-of-the-art production technologies have gone into its development. This includes processing special glass materials and aspherical lens elements manufactured in Wetzlar using innovative Precision Glass Moulding (PGM) technology, which shapes lenses in a highly precise process, achieving exceptional quality standards. The optical design comprises ten lenses in five groups, including three aspherical lenses. A floating element ensures consistent imaging performance over the entire focusing range. 드디어 나왔군요. 새로운 렌즈 35 녹티가 등장했습니다.

최소초점거리 50cm 이 눈에 띄네요. M-EV1 과 조합도 괜찮겠습니다.

경통 모습이 살짝 어색하긴 했는데.. 그래도 35미리에서도 녹티가 나오니 선택지는 많아졌네요.

라이카 코리아 가격은 ￦16,740,000 으로 책정됐습니다. 다행히 2천만원? 은 안넘었네요~~

타이포크에서 광각 렌즈가 새로 출시되었군요. Ksana 라는 이름으로 21mm F3.5 렌즈군이 새롭게 런칭됐습니다. 타이포크 처음에는 생소한 제조사의 이름 정도로 기억되다가 화질이 좋아서 인기가 꽤 많아진 느낌입니다. 저도 관심은 가긴 했는데.. 렌즈 형태나 가격이 써드파티 치고 썩 마음에 드는 편은 아니었던..

물론 다짜고짜 라이카 디자인을 카피하기 보다는 독자적인 디자인은 선보이려 노력하는 것 같아 응원하는 편입니다. 이번 21미리 라인업은 꽤나 컴팩트한 디자인이라서 인기가 많지 않을까 싶네요.

유저로서는 선택지가 많아지는 것, 언제나 반가운 소식입니다~~
