Shvabe presents new ultra-fast lens Zenitar

The premiere of the new product took place in Moscow at the Portfolio Party 2025 photo festival

The Krasnogorsk Plant named after S. A. Zverev (KMZ) of the Shvabe holding of the Rostec State Corporation has begun production of the new Zenitar 1/50 high-aperture photo lens. The premiere of the new product took place in Moscow at the Portfolio Party 2025 photo festival. The lens has already been tested when shooting a rocket launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in April and impressed the Roscosmos photographer with its capabilities.

The focal length of the new lens is 50 mm. The ultra-high aperture value of f/1 allows for handheld shooting in low-light conditions. The new product is suitable for portrait and landscape photography, is equipped with an M-mount and is designed for digital and film mirrorless cameras. The modern Zenithar 1/50 lens will soon go on open sale.

“We are actively involved in the development of the domestic photography industry – we are partners of festivals, provide our equipment for testing by photographers and develop new lens models. The super-fast Zenitar was created thanks to many years of experience and the high qualifications of our specialists. As a result of strict control at each stage of production, we managed to create a quality product. The development was highly appreciated at the international salon of inventions “Archimedes”, where our plant was awarded a gold medal,” said Anton Klokov, acting general director of KMZ.

The capabilities of the Zenitar 1/50 impressed Roscosmos photographer Artem Pylaev, who tested the new product while filming the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in April. He also tested the Zenit M rangefinder camera and the universal Zenitar 2.8/21 lens, capturing the historic moments of the rocket launch.

“The new lens left only the best impressions. These are incredible optical effects that delight at first sight, and a wide range of technical capabilities. Together, these characteristics allow you to create amazing shots,” shared Artem Pylaev.

The development was also highly praised at the international exhibition of inventions “Archimedes”, where the plant was awarded a gold medal.

The lens premiered at the Portfolio Party 2025 photo festival, which took place in Moscow on May 24 with the support of KMZ. Festival guests were also presented lenses for Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras. Participants of the event were able to test the Zenithar 2.8/16, Zenithar 1.2/50s, Zenithar 1.4/75 Helios Edition, Selena 1.9/58, Selena 2.2/85, the legendary Helios 40-2 1.5/85, known for its unique artistic background blur effect, and other models.

스펙은 50mm F1 으로 대구경 렌즈를 내놓았네요.

행사장에서는 다른 렌즈들도 같이 테스트 해볼 수 있었던 것 같습니다.

제니타 올드렌즈들이 꽤 매력적이긴 했었는데..

새롭게 나오려는 움직임이 꽤나 반갑습니다 ㅎ
